The world's largest airport in the future, Beijing New Airport, will be the world's largest single-body isolation building and the world's largest single-body airport terminal building.
Beijing New Airport is located on the north bank of Yongding River, between Lixian Town and Yufa Town, Daxing District, Beijing, and Guangyang District, Langfang City, Hebei Province. Covering a total area of 41,000 mu, the area is about the size of 63 Tiananmen Squares, with a total investment of 80 billion yuan. It plans to build 7 runways to meet the annual passenger throughput of 100 million people.
The Beijing New Airport Terminal Building is designed by a design consortium formed by Beijing Institute of Architectural Design and Research Co., Ltd. (BIAD) and China Civil Aviation Airport Construction Corporation (CACC) as the general contractor. The main body of the terminal building is divided into three bidding sections, which are implemented by Beijing Urban Construction, Beijing Construction Engineering, and China Construction Eighth Bureau.
From September 2015, when the construction of the terminal building started to the expected completion of the main project by the end of 2018, Yongmao tower cranes accompanied the builders to the forefront of construction.
